Frantic Friday: Birthday Weekend

I have not felt more loved and more celebrated than I have this past weekend! Oh. My. Goodness. I just want to start by saying thank you to everyone who reached out to me this weekend, whether it was a phone call, a dinner, or on social media. It was completely overwhelming in the most joyous way. I feel so blessed to have such a thoughtful family, amazing friends, and a loving husband. Aaron planned so many celebrations! It was a blast! Here’s a small recap of all the birthday festivities.

Thursday:

My mom, dad, and sister gave Aaron and I tickets to see The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time. It was an incredible set! I have not seen anything like it! I was blown away! What’s a show without dinner? I decided to take Aaron to a new (for him) restaurant… Taco Diner. We split a wonderful meal and started off the birthday festivities with margaritas. Is there any other way?

Friday:

My amazing husband took me to dinner at Standard Service, and I LOVED that when I got there some of my closest friends were there! I couldn’t have been happier to celebrate with my new Texas community! It was a great time, filled with cocktails, fun conversation and dessert, followed by a game night at our house.

Saturday:

This may take the cake for the weekend! Taylor and Dan recently bought a plane and they took us on a flight to Cedar Mills, Oklahoma. We landed on a grass runway by Lake Texoma and walked to lunch at a cute little burger joint on the water, Pelican’s Landing! It was such a fun experience! The slight turbulence got to me on the way back, so I think I’ll stick to flying at a higher altitude! But, it was such an adventure!

As if that wasn’t enough, we went to celebrate with two of our favorite couples at a new (to me) restaurant in the Shops at Legacy called Pepper Smash. The company was great! I am so blessed to have Amanda and Emily, and their families, in my life! They were some of the first people I met once I moved to Texas and they are so dear to my heart!

Sunday:

Exhausted from my sugar high, Aaron and I went to church. I am excited to say that for the first time, I am a member at a church. Aaron and I took the new members class at Lakepointe and I am so excited to get started serving, I’m just not sure where. Just like when I took the occupation test in high school, I got even results across the board, resulting in a “you could serve anywhere” result. This just leaves me at a loss. So, if you think about it, say a prayer that God will show me where I need to serve. Thanks!

Monday:

MY ACTUAL BIRTHDAY! I was supposed to have jury duty, but justice prevailed and I did not have to go! So, since I did not have any meetings, I instead decided to catch up on some personal errands. I know, it doesn’t sound very exciting. But, when one of your besties takes off work to run them with you the day is a lot better!! Taylor, you are a gem! I appreciate you being there for me! And, for taking some pics of me on my 29th birthday!! Thank you, Emily, or Petals Couture, for the beautiful flower crown!!

Once again, thank you so much for such a wonderful birthday weekend, it wouldn’t have been the same without you!

FYI if you used to follow my Manic Monday posts. I just decided I cannot get my weekend thoughts together by Monday and so I have now switched to Frantic Friday. I hope y’all are ok with that switch because I am so excited about it!!

With Joy,
